| Route 3. Ozalj - Vivodina - Ozalj |
From the centre of Ozalj, we are climbing
towards the Old Town, which belongs to
the first monument category, and was
unofficially the Croatian capital in the 17th
century, the period of rule of Vice-Roy
Petar Zrinski. In the Old Town you should
certainly see the opulent county collection.
After the initial ascents, there starts
an easier ride along the Kupa
River towards the village of Kamanja,
where we cross the Kupa River and enter
the woods and the Žumberak Natural Park.
The ride in this part will require frequent
changes of rhythm. Ascent will be followed
by descent, all the wayback to
Ozalj. The longest ascent is towards the
village of Vivodina. Allthat effort is awarded
with the view of the green hills of the
wine-growingarea. The steepest ascent,
with the most beautiful panoramic view,
is on theway to the St. Cross Church in
Lović Prekriški. "If you have not visited
Lović Prekriški, you have not seen the
Croatian homeland!", said D. Trstenjak, a
poet. Having passed the villages of
Ferenci and Škaljevica, you arrive at
Vrhovac, and after Vrhovac you descend
through Zaječko selo towards the bridge
on the Kupa. You will first see the stone
building of Munjara. It was built in 1908,
and has been used as a hydro-electric
powerplant. The old town of Ozalj is on
the other side.

| Route 4. Žakanje - Netretić - Žakanje |
In the first part of the route, you will pass
the villages along the Kupa River bank.
First, on an easy ascent, and then a bit
steeper, after the village of Mošanci, you
will reach the altitude of 300 meters
above theriver and enjoy the view of the
"green" river canyon and the neighbouring country
of Slovenia. After Rosopajnik,
riding on the slopes of Lipnik through hamlets
and villages, you will get to the
crossroads towards Netretić. Afteran easy
ascent on a wide road, you will reach
Netretić and continue your ride towards
Modruš, and pass by a 19th century
manor. After Tomašnica, you continue the
ride towards Jaškovo, on track no. 1. From
Jaškovo, you ride towards M. Erjavec, and
continue towards Ozalj. Just a few kilometres
after M. Erjavec, there is the village
of Svetice, with the Paulist Monastery.
With Ozalj behind us, we are entering the
wooded and hilly area withvillages leading
us to Kamanja. In Kamanja, you
should visit the Vrlovka cave. Riding
through the villages of Donji and Gornji
Bukovac, we are avoiding the road and
returning to the starting point, via
Žakanjsko selo.
