| Route 7. Ogulin - Tounj - Ogulin |
In the centre of Ogulin, there is Đula's
abyss, known for the legend of Đula or
Zulejka who, unhappy in love, threw
herself into the abyss of the Dobra River.
The earliest records refer to Ogulin as
Zulum grad (Zulum Town) or Julin grad
(Jula's Town), so that we start our ride at
the very historicalroot of the today's
town. After the ascent, you can enjoy the
panoramic view of the whole town with
the surroundings and the Klek Mountain
above the town. As the road takes you
through the village of Trošmarije and
along the Dobra River and the high-road,
you ride in the hilly area towards the village
of Tounj. Tounj is on the Jozefina
road, and is famous for the two-storey
stone bridge across the Tounjčica River,
which was built in two phases and is
unique for its construction and shape.
The route will provide you with a pleasant
ride and take you to the Ogulin field,
which is one of the largest karst fields in
Croatia. On the way back, you can not
miss the Marmont's stone bridge in
O?tarije and the Sabljaci Lake, where
you will find the city has a rich cultural
and historical heritage.

| Route 8. Ogulin - Modruš - Ogulin |
The first section of the route leads you
from the centre of Ogulin to the ride
around the Klek Mountain (1181 m).
Because of the unusual shape of the
mountain, there are legends of a sleeping
giant and the gatherings of witches,
fairies and elves, from allover the world,
in the stormy nights. When you pass the
villages, you enterthe leafy and evergreen
forest, the green of which will open from
time to time and let
you see Klek. At
Bjelski, you will
reach the Rudolfina
road, which will take
you to Jasenak and
Jasenačko polje. At
the end ofthe field (4
km) there is the
Croatian Olympic Centre and the near-by
Bjelolasica skiing resort (1543 m above
sea). From Jasenak, you continue the ride
through the forest towards Modruš. You
should stop in Kujina Draga, with bottomless
caves, it is one of the favourite
potholing sites. Modruš keeps the
remains of the medieval town of Traan,
which has great historical value. The ride
towards Ogulin will offer you an impressive
view of Polje and the Sabljaci Lake
near Prelesje, above the village of
Desmerica. The return to Ogulin by the
lake will be a reward for all the efforts
this route requires. For those who want a
bit more of this route, we recommend a
ride from Jasenak via Dreanice to
Modruš. The ride through three karst
fields (Lug, Draženičko and Krakarsko
polje) is quite an experience.
Total route length: 102.2 km
Altitude difference: 515 m
