Sabljaci lake
|
 A true gem of the Ogulin area is the lake of Sabljaci, an artificial lake on Zagorska Mrežnica. The lake, on the eleventh place according to its size is called by a lot of Croatians "the sea of Ogulin"(170 ha). If you look at it from Relesje above the village of Desmerice, it really seems like a large sea bay. By the various kinds of fish present raging from the home-grown trout, top mouth and chub to the wide-known capital tenches it is a true bait for fishermen but it also offers unlimited possibilities for recreationists, swimmers, rowers, surfing, pleasant walks and bike rides. There have been rowing races at the lake in the last few years, whose hosts are members of the "Sabljaci"rowing club and it was founded during the long-gone years of war.
There is a restaurant "Sabljaci"at the right bank of the lake.
