Vivodina
|
The very old village of VIVODINA was called in the 16th century. Above the landscape there is a tall and lean bell tower of the parish church of Saint Laurel with a beautiful baroque cap, a lantern and a corm (lukovicom) the exterior, especially the interior with a valuable inventory shows that there were extraordinary builders who built it and there was a peculiar baroque ways of building. This church is one of the most valuable monuments of baroque building of the Ozalj area.
The nature in the Vivodina area is characteristic for its special attractiveness. The village is located on the dorsal of a hill and there is a beautiful view form both the left and the right side onto the green waves grown into a thick forest. Deep plains, scattered hamlets, wine- bearing hills... between the forest and the hills there are as many as 26 villages and hamlets to be found.
The Vivodina area has been known by grape vine cultivation for a long time and today there are a few distinguished farmsteads which grow wine and sell it, in the place of Vivodina and in the neighbouring villages. In various farmsteads you can taste other gastronomic specialties of this area besides the wine.
As a point of interest we would like to single out the Vivodina pub ("Gostionica Vivodina") which has a centennial tradition and is owned by the Frlan family farmstead.
